This French restaurant in NYC just opened and serves one thing, STEAK and FRITES! Luckily, they also have a dessert menu!!! After my succulent steak and crispy, salty frites, I ordered the Le Vacherin du Relais. The dessert was explained to me as a tower of meringues with hazelnut and vanilla gelato, then covered in hot fudge and whipped cream. YUMMY! I said, “Yes please!” Merinque is one of my newest obsessions (ever since tasting Pavlova in London), and you know I can’t live without ice cream! I could barely wait to dig in! This sundae was perfect! The warm fudge glazed the meringues, but didn’t take away their crunch or chewy texture. I loved having two different kinds of gelato to give the sundae more flavorful dimension since meringue is tasteless. Le Relais did not skimp on the hot fudge either, which is a very important factor in any good sundae! This restaurant has locations in Paris and London with it’s NYC location that just opened. It’s great steak and frites with an excellent dessert menu to end the meal! Bonjour Le Relais!
