I love steakhouses, not because of steak, because they ALWAYS have a fantastic dessert menu!  It’s like a gaurantee!  And even though I am stuffed after eating filet with amazing bad for you sides, I can’t help to say “YES” to seeing the dessert menu.  Primehouse was no different and I actually could have ordered everything they had to offer.  Instead of committing gulttony and having to be rolled out of the restaurant, I sensibly shared two desserts.  Brownie cheesecake with a scoop of homemade Nutella gelato and Hot Apple Cider donuts sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and three dipping sauces.  Not bad at all, right?  OMG!  Let’s begin with the donuts.  Displayed in a cute little box comes hot, freshly fried, little donut fritters covered in cinnamon sugar!  As if that isn’t enough, on the side are three little paint-like tubes.  The waiter explains that you take the painting tube filled with vanilla cream, caramel, and raspberry, and INJECT each donut with your choice of filling!  I started off just injecting one flavor into each donut and ended up with all three in one tiny fritter!  It was like an art project and dessert all in one!  Having the ability to inject each donut was so much better than dipping sauces because it kept your hands clean!  It also provided an explosion of liquid in your mouth with each bite!!!  INCREDIBLE!  Genius even!  It was fun, flirty, and made the dessert interactive.

The chocolate brownie cheesecake originally came with cappucino gelato, but when I saw nutella as a flavor, I switched it out!  Nutella is one of my favorite spreads in the world next to PB!  This cheesecake was absolute perfection!!!  About an 1 1/2″ inches high and wide, it’s served in a long slice…almost like a log.  At one end is the scoop of gelato and on top is a chocolate slate.  Two rich, velvety brownies sandwich the creamy, but light cheesecake.  The gelato serves as a wonderful palate cleanser between these intense bites.  It was like those ice cream sandwiches you by at the grocery store in the freezer, but in a luxury cheesecake form.  The portion was perfect too!  Not some massive slice that is in possible to eat, just a long and lean slice disguising the fact that you are, in fact eating, brownie cheesecake!

Primehouse is just one of the restaurants owned by the BR Guest Restaurants chain.  I have to say that whichever one I am at, I always have great dessert.  You can never go wrong!  (I used to hostess at two of them, Ocean Grill and Blue Fin!) xoxoBlondie
