Cocoa and Fig…Minneapolis, MN

There is a tiny shop located in the fabulous SkyWalks of Minneapolis called Coca and Fig. While on the human highway, I stopped in my tracks at the sight of the perfect confectionaries in front of my eyes! I definitely caused a small traffic jam as I veered off into the store. What caught my eye immediately were these chocolate covered little lollipops called Cake Balls. They had four different flavors that day, but Black Velvet with Cream Cheese buttercream coated in milk chocolate and Vanilla with Vanilla buttercream coated in white chocolate took my breath away!! I thought both flavors contrasted each other as well. Well, this was by far the best lollipop I have EVER had!! The chocolate coating had such a nice crunch as you bit into the creamy, moist cake inside. They must mix the buttercream into the cake to form the ball because it tasted like someone plunged their hand into the center of a cake and rolled the contents into a ball. I LOVED IT! The Black Velvet was uber rich and so creamy. The Vanilla reminded me of birthday cake, simple yet delicious. They were the perfect size too…about two bites, which was great for an after lunch treat. These lollipops look so cute displayed as well! I can only imagine ordering them for a special occasion and having them out on the table for dessert. They would definitely cause conversation before, during, and after indulging! xoxoBlondie
