Today I visited the Bouchon Bakery in the Time Warner Center.  I simply couldn’t pass up the giant chocolate chip cookie starring at me through the case.  So, I ordered a coffee to accompany my treat.  The size of this chocolate chip is perfect.  About 5″ in diameter and filled with chocolate, this cookie was soft and chewy.  I was expecting a Read More »

There is hope for dessert lovers at the new CITIFIELD!!

sdc10270sdc10267

Welcome to Citifield everyone!  I went to my first game the other night and was blown away!  It is gorgeous and it even has some good looking treats for that 7th inning stretch craving!  In the “Market”  located on the 2nd level, I think, they have Mets Black and White cookies, cupcakes and puddings!  They even have little sugar Mets symbols on top!  If you don’t mind standing in line, the Shake Shack is open and looking just as good as the Manhattan outposts!  I was worried that the quality wouldn’t be there, but everything I saw was a HOME RUN!   xoxo Blondie

I’m very excited to announce a fantastic dessert at one a great eatery in NYC. Community’s menu is American-eclectic with seasonal, local, and organic ingredients. This just hits the spot for me big time! Having dined quite often, I’ve never had a dessert on their menu (I know BIG surprise). I’d been eyeing everyone’s plates, and I decided I must try their Read More »

The Chocolate Bar is reopening it’s doors May 1! It will be so wonderful to have this “adult chocolate shop” back in the West Village. They have announced that new chef Gustaf Mabrouk will be making Mallomars year round! This treat is usually only sold October through April since they melt easily in warm weather.

Fun Facts About Mallomars:
1. It’s a circle of Graham Cracker topped with a puff of extruded marshmallow then covered in chocolate.
2. First introduced to the public in 1913; Nabisco sold their first box in Union City, NJ.
3. 70% of Mallomars are sold in metropolitan New York.

A comment on NY magazine’s article on the “15 best cupcakes”

There is an article out about the Top 15 NYC cupcakes in New York Magazine.  Nancy Olson from Gramercy Tavern was lucky enough to have all these cupcakes delivered to her to sample and then rate.  I have some differences in her findings that I would like to say.
First of all, her number 9 pick…Cupcake Cafe.  The fact that this Read More »

After a fantastic dinner of burgers, my husband and I decided to split the server’s dessert recommendation:  the Espresso Brownie Sundae.  Now, I was hesitant with the espresso since I like a good ‘ole plain brownie sundae, but I went with it after we were told they make their own caramel and add the espresso in to it.  The entire sundae consisted of a Read More »

Alice’s Teacup just keeps impressing!

dscn2329

OK so I have to admit that I’m always so excited about the cakes, scones, cookies, and cupcakes that Alice’s Teacup displays that I have never tried one of their dessert menu items.  I was having lunch with friends the other day and we tried the s’mores dessert.  OMG.  The creativity on this one gets an A++++!  As you can see, the marshmallow just oozes everywhere.  There is also a layer of gingerbread cookie and their delicious chocolate mousse.  I did miss the chunky chocolate bar and graham cracker that usually accompanies the mallows, but this unique take on the classic dessert definitely had me at hello!  XOXO Brownie
