After reading a DailyCandy.com article, I was intrigued by the new West Village restaurant, The Lion . The Lion has a dark-wooded den feel to it that drew me in. The chef/owner, John Delucie, was in charge of the kitchen at Read More »

OK, so yes I’m still in San Diego (reviews from amazing places here to come!), but I still have incredible places in NYC that I must share with you! Dining at Pearl Oyster Bar in the West Village is a must for every New Yorker and visitor. The food was ridiculous (get the Lobster Roll!) and the dessert was fabulous. I enjoyed their Blueberry Pie with Read More »

After a lovely salad and entree, my table and I decided to try some of this chic restaurant’s desserts. They don’t have a tangible menu, but the waiter was ready and excited to tell me about their final courses (which is already a plus since the enthusiasm suggests they take pride in their desserts). The group of us decided to get one of each of their Read More »

OK, so we’ve already reviewed Jacques Torres, but I must give a shout out to their PEANUT BUTTER HOT CHOCOLATE! It’s still quite cold so this is the perfect way to warm your insides. Here’s the deal: they take a cup, smother the edges with Read More »

I don’t stop into Crumbs enough! With so many flavors and sizes of cupcakes, why I am not indulging everyday!?!? Luckily, I stopped into an UWS location this evening and was NOT disappointed. I love that Crumbs features different sizes of Read More »

Sweet Revenge is an adorable cafe in the West Village that does everything right! I had the pleasure of talking with the owner tonight, Marlo, who was right there to answer questions and offer suggestions to all her customers. The atmosphere at Sweet Revenge is like an intimate European bistro. I love that you can listen to good music, have a glass of wine, and eat a cupcake all at one place. I had the PERFECT dessert tonight…a Read More »

The Chocolate Bar is reopening it’s doors May 1! It will be so wonderful to have this “adult chocolate shop” back in the West Village. They have announced that new chef Gustaf Mabrouk will be making Mallomars year round! This treat is usually only sold October through April since they melt easily in warm weather.
Fun Facts About Mallomars:
1. It’s a circle of Graham Cracker topped with a puff of extruded marshmallow then covered in chocolate.
2. First introduced to the public in 1913; Nabisco sold their first box in Union City, NJ.
3. 70% of Mallomars are sold in metropolitan New York.

Wow! Two ice cream lovers were trasformed today into gelato romantics!! Fitting for this Italian gelateria. We both have had the luxury of eating gelato in Rome, Italy, so we know how the real stuff tastes. The owners of L’Arte are both from Sicily and use only natural, fresh, and local ingredients or ones brought over from Italy. Made in small batches everyday, the gelato is Read More »

Today we traveled to West 11th Street and 6th Avenue to finally try Royale Cafe and Pastry! We had a blast getting to know one of the owners, Nicola Mejer. She was so helpful and generous, making us feel right at home. Royale opened in March 2008, and it’s been a hit with it’s local Read More »
