Homemeade Pumpkin Pie



There’s nothing like pumpkin pieon Thanksgiving!  There’s also nothing like making your mom’s pumpkin pie.  Well, my mom would always make Libby’s pumpkin pie.  It’s the famous recipe on the back of the can of Libby’s 100% pumpkin.  Of course I had to make make my own pie dough as well.  As you can see above, the pie can out lovely and my decorative pie crust wasn’t so bad either!  Warning:  it took almost twice the time in my oven to cook through the center so don’t be alarmed if it takes a while.  Here are both the pie crust and pumpkin pie recipes.  I challenge you to whip some heavy cream for fresh whipped cream as well!  Don’t whip too hard though or it will turn to butter…Mmmm.  Always keep it simple with pumpkin pie, plain and simple is best for this dessert.  The holidays continue on so more time for pie and whipped cream!  Happy baking desserters!
