Chocolate Croissant French Toast



If you need a rockin brunch idea for this weekend, you MUST try Seersucker on Smith Street in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn.  Not only is the ambience cool and rustic, the food in INCREDIBLE.  The southern infleunce is apparent as the “best biscuits I’ve ever tasted” were served to my table.  I couldn’t ignore the special, chocolate croissant french toast, laying in a pool of maple syrup.  It might be the best french toast I’ve ever had.  The lightness of the croissant soaked in maple syrup made it spongey and moist with chocolate melting in my mouth.  It’s pretty much everything you’d want in a french toast.  It’s everything you’d want in a brunch!  Not to mention, still or sparkling water is on the house (perfect for this sparkling lover).  Chef /owner Robert Newton uses small local farms and indie purveyors for many of his ingredients and Seersucker is a lead sponsor of the P.S. 58 student vegetable garden project and the Red Hook Initiative Teen Chef program.  I would recommend this place to everyone.  Relaxing Saturday brunch and a stroll through Brooklyn.  LOVE.
