Happy National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day!!!
It’s National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day!!! Americans love chocolate chip cookies! Half of all cookies sold in the United States are chocolate chip. Did you know that the chocolate chip cookie happened by accident? Back in 1930, Ruth Graves Wakefield added some semi-sweet chocolate chips into batter of Butter Drop Do sugar cookies that she was baking for some guest at the Toll House Inn. I guess the guests were pretty happy with the “new” cookie because it’s been a hit ever since! We are certainly glad that Ruth decided to be adventurous that day because nothing beats a really great chocolate chip cookie! Our favorite in New York City has to be from Le Vain Bakery, but the one from City Bakery is a close, we mean very close, second! Get your hands on a chocolate chip today and celebrate the chocolate chip cookie!
