Babbo
Babbo is a place to go for all kinds of celebrations, and this particular night was for a birthday. The food is incredible and every dessert is done right. Concord grapes seem to be a popular ingredient right now, and they were delicious in their Concord Grape Schiacciata with vanilla bean gelato. Schiacciata is essentially means “flattened” pizza dough and this one was sweet like a doughnut. The concord grapes were cooked and had a consistency of a blueberry compote. It was like a fancy concord grape cobbler. Delicious! The second dessert was a Blackberry Crostada with sweet corn gelato. It was a tart with a generous portion of soft and warm blackerries oozing out from it. The gelato had a perfect hint of sweet corn flavor, making the overall taste seem like sweet cornbread with berries. These desserts were nothing short of fantastic. They had the essence of Fall and made me think of the leaves changing color and cozying up by the fire. Of course, Babbo’s warm and inviting ambience didn’t help one bit either. A perfect birthday celebration!
