A Fresh Pear Pie Recipe

What do you do on a cold Saturday night when you have a TON of pears from your food CSA???  Well, make a delicious pear pie of course!  That’s exactly what a friend and I did and had a blast doing so.  Pear pies are surprisingly easy to make and it was delicious.  AllRecipes.com is usually my go-to since every recipe I use from them is usually a hit.  With only 9 ingredients (especially if you use an already made pie crust like I did), the most tedious part is peeling and cutting the pears, but with two people, it flies by!  The spices and lemon zest really made the flavor, and I can never resist buttering and sprinkling sugar on the top.  the crust molded to the fruit and the whole dish tasted SO fresh.  I guess that’s what happens when you use pears just picked from a New York farm.  Paired with Breyers Natural Vanilla ice cream, this recipe is a Fall winner!
