Brownie, Blondie, and The Brownie Boy!

We had a special encounter the other day with The Brownie Boy.  When we heard about his delicious brownies and blondies we couldn’t help to think this would be a match made in heaven!  While on a lunch break from rehearsal (we are both workshopping a revival of the show Sugar Babies), we sampled some brownie and blondie bites.  The Brownie Boy bakes by hand, in small batches, using the finest ingredients, so that everything is what hecalls a, “homemade sensation!”  We agree!  Both the traditional and dulce de leche brownie as well as the blondie were extremely fresh and under baked in texture.  We really didn’t even need to chew because every bite melted in our mouth and lingered on the roof of our tongues.   The brownie had a nice crunchy top with a extremely fudgey center.  Swirls of caramel laced the dulce de leche brownie, adding a sweetness to the rich chocolate base.  Both of us thought by adding a sprinkle of fleur de sel to this brownie would create an excellent salted caramel brownie to add to the menu.  We had never tasted such a simple blondie, pure butter and sugar base with large chocolate chips mixed in, it reminded us of a chocolate chip cookie cake.  Most blondies are packed with toffee, peanut butter, or nuts, but The Brownie Boy decided to keep it plain and simple, yet still delicious.  If you want to take a bite of some of Brownie Boys treats head to the Brooklyn Flea Smorgasborg on Saturdays from 11-6pm.  Bravo Brownie Boy!
