Soft serve gelato at Nicoletta

There is only one thing on the dessert menu at
Michael White’s new pizzeria and it’s soft serve gelato. Normally, I wouldn’t like the fact that I only had one option, but when it’s gelato with a choice of homemade toppings…I’m good! So, for $6 you get a cup of fior di latte gelato with a choice of two toppings. You may be wondering, “What is fior di latte?” Well, it is a type of mozzarella, but with an ice cream taste. More or less like milk/vanilla ice cream . It was a perfect base for homemade toppings such as rosemary caramel corn, blueberry limoncello, or chili peanut toffee sauce. I ordered my gelato with
polenta streusel and salted caramel sauce. I don’t think you can choose wrong, but I definitely chose right! My mini sundae was heaven in a cup. I loved how it was on the smaller side, which was nice after eating a lot of pizza. It was completely flavor banging, crunchy, sweet goodness in a glass. The polenta streusel and salted caramel paired really well together. It had that coffee cake topping taste with a salty finish on my tongue from the caramel. The gelato was super smooth and creamy with a good amount of substance for soft serve. I really didn’t want this dessert to end. Since
Nicoletta serves two of my all time favorite foods, pizza and gelato, I’m sure I’ll be back!
