Local = Good at Bellvale Farms Creamery

Located in Warwick, NY is the Bellvale Farms Creamery.  Bellvale Farms has been supplying dairy to the Hudson Valley region since 1819!  Their creamery is located on top of Mt. Peter, providing a most spectacular view while indulging in your sugar cone.  They make over 50 flavors of ice cream, basic and speciality types, that rotate daily.   You can guess what the basic flavors are, but Bellvale creates some pretty unique specialities!  For instance there is a flavor called Black Dirt Blast:  chocolate coffee ice cream with fudge and toffee pieces, or Barn Boots which is peanut brittle and marshmallow in chocolate ice cream.  Yes, the lines are out the door!  Yes, prime time is definitely sunset.  I ended up getting Great White Way in a sugar cone and came back the next day to get a scoop of Heifer’s Crunch, also in a sugar cone.  Great White Way was absolutely amazing.  It was a white chocolate ice cream base with dark chocolate chunks and a raspberry swirl.  The Heifer’s Crunch was a brown sugar ice cream with caramel swirl and toffee pieces.  Both flavors were out of control.  The ice cream is super creamy and thick, and it took a little effort to lick each bite from the cone.  Copious amounts of toppings and sauces swirled throughout each scoop as well, leaving every bite filled with delicious sweetness and crunch.  Bellvale Creamery is special.  It’s one of those local ice creameries that keeps you coming back every night because it’s so addicting.  Friendly workers, free samples of flavors, and a gorgeous view to boot.  What a perfect summer’s treat!
