Itizy Ice Cream Truck

“Ice Cream with a Passion” that gives back!  Watch out, there’s a new ice cream truck in town and it’s GOOD.  On my way home from teaching a dance cardio class at the fabulous Body By Simone, I noticed a new dessert truck in my hood.  What a great way to cool down by having an ice cream cone!  Itizy ice cream is all New York.  The fresh milk, cream, and eggs come from Hudson Valley Farms and the flavors are hand-crafted every week in small batches right in NYC.  One of their best traits is that for every 5 scoops of  ice cream sold, Itizy donates 1 meal to a child in need.  Ann and Ken, the founders, have a deep passion for travel and helping the world through food.  This has lead them to making delicious ice cream and feeding children.  I decided to try their classic Vanilla:  Premium sun cured Madagascar Bourbon vanilla beans provide rich and complex flavor.  I feel you can always tell the quality of something from a basic flavor, and I was blown away!  The FLAVOR!  The creamy and soft texture that was melting beautifully in the sun enhanced the sweet taste.  Those Madagascar bourbon vanilla beans provide for the best vanilla ice cream I’ve ever tasted.  The perfect finish was their homemade waffle cones that were a sensible size rather than the usual giant ones.  They make them right in the truck!  To find out where they’re parked follow them on Twitter or check their online schedule.
