Hallmark Drive-In

Is there anything better than an ice cream cone on a summer’s afternoon?  While relaxing up in Old Lyme, CT, I was taken to a fabulous little drive-in restaurant and ice creamery, Hallmark.  It’s one of those summer shacks that have ultimate street appeal and a fabulous menu to boot, from lobster rolls to black raspberry frozen yogurt.  We pulled off the rode for a cold and creamy treat!  I decided to get two scoops of my all time favorite flavor, chocolate chip cookie dough, but also had some bites of coconut chip, oreo, and black raspberry.  This ice cream was the real deal: extra cold, hard, thick, and creamy.  My cookie dough had a delightful vanilla base with chocolate chunks and round pieces of dough.  Pretty classic and pretty delicious.  My other favorite flavor, Oreo, was also fantastic, and filled with so much Oreo pieces it almost looked like chocolate ice cream.  I was so happy to be taken to Hallmark Drive-in.  It’s most definitely a precious little dessert gem in Old Lyme!
