Babka!
OH SWEET BABKA! I’ve always salivated over the baked goods at Zabar’s thinking, “Someday I will buy these delicious chocolate-filled bread concoctions!” It’s one of those treats you never buy yourself but are great gifts. That’s just what happened to me. I got babka bread as a gift! A chocolate filled babka bread loaf AND a cinnamon babka loaf as well! Holey crumbles, this bread met all of my expectations and more! The crusty outside and gooey middle crumbled as I broke pieces off. I can’t even handle how happy the exuberant amount of chocolate made me. The texture was chewy and thick. The cinnamon loaf was far from boring (I didn’t think it was going to be as good as it was). So fresh and moist, it tasted like a cinnamon roll with extra cinnamon filling. I highly recommend you buy these loaves for someone….or yourself. They won’t be just be admired by me in the store any longer. Zabar’s, you’ve done well.
