Peter Pan Donuts & Pastry Shop

Tina Fey wants to violate Peter Pan Donuts.  This is a Gothamist article that popped up when I Googled this famed donut place in Greenpoint, Brooklyn (I’ll let you read the article for more specific details).  They’re THAT good.  I was shooting a fitness video in Greenpoint a few weeks ago and knew I needed to try these right after.  Yes, I know, fitness and donuts are quite the juxtapostion, but “why work out if you can’t treat yourself I say!”  Anyways, my heart was so happy as I was eating their famous red velvet cake donut in the car back to Manhattan.  I love cake donuts and this one was out-of-control.  The fresh, moist cake with that rich red velvet was so satisfying.  They recommended their cream donuts as well, so why not get two?!  A yeast donut with a huge amount of cream mixed with red velvet or vanilla cake plopped right on top.  Holey Doughy!  If you look up “indulgence” in the dictionary it would simply say, “Peter Pan’s cream donuts.”  Cake, cream, fried dough…enough said.  My final choice was the apple crumble:  yeast donut filled with apple pie filling and topped with GIANT chunks of cinnamon crumble.  With it’s adorable “old-school” diner ambience and incredible donuts, it’s well worth the trip if you’re not already lucky enough to live near it.  Tinkerbell, can I borrow some pixie dust to fly over there right now PLEASE?!
