Fairway Chocolate
We were pleasantly surprised to find out that one of our favorite supermarkets in Manhattan, Fairway, makes their own brand of chocolates. We sampled milk and dark bars filled with goodies such as caramel, nuts, and fruit. The dark chocolate bars completely won over our hearts! Amanda, who typically is not a fan of raspberry truffle, could not stop breaking off squares of the Dark Chocolate Raspberry Truffle bar. The raspberry had just enough sweetness to play brilliantly off the bitter dark chocolate. It was simply irresistible. Both bars that contained nuts were also intriguing. The nuts were finely chopped, resulting in tiny bits in each bite, rather than whole pieces or chunks. This was a nice change, however it made it hard to taste the difference in each nut. The dark chocolate with hazelnut was smooth and creamy with only a touch of the nut’s flavor. Beth, usually not a fan of hazelnuts since they tend to overpower any other flavor they’re with, loved it! You could taste more chocolate than hazelnut which is nice since the nut should just accompany the bar given that it’s main ingredient is cocoa. The caramel chocolate chunk was gooey and chewy. Chalk-full of thick caramel that was soft and fresh, Beth coudn’t stop eating it! All of the chocolate was definitely “melt-in-your-mouth” creamy, and we will be adding it to our Fairway grocery list! You can order Fairway Chocolates at www.fairwaymarket.com/marketplace!
