Extra Virgin’s Peanut Butter Brownie Sundae

I was pretty psyched to see a Peanut Butter Brownie Sundae on the menu at Extra Virgin, an Italian restaurant in the West Village.  It even sounded extra delicious: chocolate sauce, peanut brittle, vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.  I couldn’t go wrong and I didn’t!  The definite standout in this sundae was the ice cream.  It was so creamy and smooth that it reminded me more of gelato and it had a tart sour cream taste.  It was so velvety that it lingered on my tongue before completely melting in my mouth.  The thick peanut butter brownie was stuffed deep into the glass but was rich and filled with peanut butter chunks.  The peanut brittle added a sticky crunch to every bite!  This sundae, while simple, hit the spot!
