Serendipity unveils it’s new SUNDAE!

This was my lucky day!  Serendipity 3, home of the famous frozen hot chocolate and glorious ice cream sundaes, created a sundae especially for the Broadway show Follies!  Called the “Live Laugh Love” sundae, it consisted of a huge slice of apple walnut pie, cinnamon ice cream, caramel sauce, whipped cream, sprinkles, candy hearts, and a swirled sugar ribbon lollipop!  Owner, Steven Bruce, was on hand to unveil the new sundae to cast members that were awake at 11am to eat some ice cream.  An apple pie sundae for breakfast??  Yes, please!  This isn’t the first time Serendipity has created a themed sundae for a Broadway show.  They have a developing team that takes aspects of the each show and translates them into a dessert. This may be my next career!  The apple pie slice surely was inspired by a line in second act song “Lucy Jessie,” “Tell her that she’s sweller than apple pie.”  The spice in the cinnamon ice cream and the sugar in the sweet caramel sauce juxtapose each other just like the relationships between the four leading characters. The candy hearts, both red and pink definitely resemble the rose petals that cover the stage at the end of act two and tie in the overall theme of  love. The big ribbon lollipop sticking out of the sundae was the perfect take away treat and helped to represent the bright, colorful Loveland sequence.  The highlight for me in this sundae was the cinnamon ice cream and caramel sauce.  Each bite was so cold and spicy with the gooey caramel dripping from my spoon!  I also really enjoyed the streusel thickly covering the top of the pie.  It was super crunchy, sweet, and chock full of walnuts.  I guarantee you will love the new Live Laugh Love Sundae. For the perfect evening out, I suggest coming to see Follies and then heading to Serendipity for dessert!  Bravo!!!
