Relish
After spending a few weeks doing a show at the Cape Playhouse on Cape Cod this summer, this is by far the best dessert I had. Cupcakes are such a common dessert, so when a bakery makes me weak in the knees from tasting the popular treat, I know it’s something special. Relish, an adorable artisan bakery in Provencetown, is situated off the beaten path in a quaint seaside neighborhood. They have vanilla and chocolate cupcakes with vanilla buttercream frosting. Simple and wonderful. I’m an icing kind of girl (so is Amanda) and their icing was out of this world!!!! A heap of it covered the cake, and I could have eaten it all day. Thick and creamy but not too sweet. I tried the chocolate, and with the icing, it was delectable. The cake reminded me of a Coca Cola cake that was spongey and rich. I loved this cupcake so much, I couldn’t leave without trying the vanilla as well! WOW. The vanilla cake tasted like a hearty Angel Food cake. Both weren’t too sweet so I didn’t get a “sick” feeling after consuming them. If you are on Cape Cod, Relish is a MUST. I contemplated driving another hour from where I was to get more before I leave. These cupcakes, I can say with confidence, are some of the best I’ve ever had.
