Cream Bakery…Astoria
Cream Bakery in Astoria serves some darn good German Chocolate Cake. My friend’s birthday was celebrated with a beautiful piece of their cake and WOW. I’m not the biggest fan of German Chocolate Cake, but my recent new love of coconut (thanks to Amanda and her obsession) made me eat it in a new light. Cut in a circular shape, this cake was layered and topped with delicious coconut-pecan frosting then powdered with cocoa. The cake itself was soft and fresh, and the entire piece was gooey and moist. The icing-cake ratio was right on and the hint of coconut shavings made for a perfect overall texture. As you can see, Cream Bakery provides a nice to-go container for the dessert you want but only have time to grab and go.
