Sweet Revenge
I finally had my very first Sweet Revenge cupcake! Amanda had been telling me about this place for a while, and so we recently went together. This cool and hip place in the West Village is our kind of hangout. They have these delicious cupcakes enveloped in unique paper wrappers. Once they run out of a specific cupcake, that’s it for the day. I enjoyed their Pumpkin Spice and “Dirty” Cupcakes. The Pumpkin Spice cake was a bread-like consistency and absolutely scrumptious on it’s own. The icing was thick and iced in a funky and fun design, then topped with cinnamon and pumpkin seeds. This is a great treat for the season. The “Dirty” was Valrhona chocolate cake and dark chocolate truffle icing. This was incredibly rich and fulfilling. The icing was like fudge and topped with powdered cocoa. This was definitely chocolate at it’s finest in a cupcake! What’s great about Sweet Revenge is that you can sit down and have a divine cupcake with a glass of wine/beer/cocktail paired perfectly with it. It’s very chill and a great go to place for a relaxing evening with friends. Their unique take on the look of a traditional cupcake is refreshing and intriguing. Amanda, you done good (like I would expect less from my dessert partner in crime)!
