The Striphouse has a chocolate cake that is 12 layers of cake, 11 layers of frosting, and a top layer of ganache.   In total: 24 layers of chocolate.  The huge slice is meant for sharing and will set a table back $16!  With four of us sharing in this slice of cake, we still could barely eat half.  It’s gigantic, extremely rich, and full of chocolate.  Each layer was very thin which resulted in an overall moist texture.  The thick layer of ganache was a killer topping, adding more silky decadence.  I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent taste and freshness of this cake.  Sometimes large, multi layered cakes are bland and stale, but that was not the case here.  For any chocoholics out there, this is a dessert for you.  It is certainly the most chocolate I have ever had in one dessert.  All the desserts are made in house, including this 24 layer chocolate cake.  You can even order a whole cake from Striphouse for your own dessert pleasure.  I can’t imagine the size of a whole cake.  It would definitely be a sight for sweet eyes.
To contrast the chocolate cake we also ordered the Tahitian Vanilla Creme Brulee with roasted pineapples.   One of the reasons I like Creme Brulee is the brulee topping.  I love cracking the top with my spoon, see it break into the creme, and then indulge in the crunch.  The vanilla flavor was not overpowering.  It just offered a hint of excellent flavor to the creme, like an after thought.  The custard was light and creamy and the roasted pineapples placed on the top added a bit of sweetness and extra texture.  The cookie on the side was like a biscotti.  It had an anise flavor to it and was a nice compliment to the creamy creme brulee.
There are six locations of Striphouse other than New York.  They are in New Jersey, Las Vegas, Houston, Key West, and Naples.   So hopefully you can visit one by you and make sure to order some dessert.
