Just Caramel…think OUTSIDE of chocolates!
I was lucky enough the other day to happen upon a bowl filled with caramel candies. Since I never pass up a free sweet, I took a couple and went on my merry way. After one bite of this rich, buttery candy, I RAN back to this bowl of heaven and stuffed my pockets with more! WOW! I love caramel and this caramel was one of the best I have ever had. It was gorgeously gooey, yet didn’t stick to my teeth. It had a rich smoothness similar to the hard Werther’s Original candy yet pulled from my teeth like salt water taffy. Inside the caramel were pecan pieces that added a salty crunch to every bite. Even after it was all gone, the overall buttery taste lingered on my tongue allowing my taste buds to savor the enjoyment. I also tried the original flavor which was just the extraordinary carmel in a long Tootsie Roll shape. It was equally delicious, of course, without the pecan pieces.
Just Caramel was started by Spencer Aste, an NYC actor who wanted to have something to do in between “acting” jobs. He’s been making his mother’s recipe for over 20 years, pulling it out every holiday season. After receiving many rave reviews, he decided to create Just Caramel.
