“Fortune-ately” good desserts at Tao!
You won’t be able to find your fortune inside any of the cookies in this ice cream, but you’ll enjoy every creamy bite! Tao makes homemade fortune cookie ice cream, a vanilla base with soft cookies mixed in. It was simply incredible! The ice cream was supremely soft and creamy, almost like the consistency of gelato. These three scoops were gone so fast we almost ordered another bowl! For two ice cream lovers like us, finding this flavor was our good “fortune.”
We also loved the Banana Pudding at Tao. Two fried bananas were placed on a coconut flaked top, giving this American classic a Thai flair. They added a little crunch and texture to the already delicious pudding. Chunks of vanilla wafers and slices of banana were throughly mixed in making it hard to pull our spoons away from the bowl.

The Giant Fortune Cookie is a best seller at Tao. It can easily feed a large table of guests and everyone gets their own fortune to read. The edges are dipped in chocolate and almond slivers with a overall dusting of powdered sugar. When you break into your cookie you find a chocolate mousse on one side and a white chocolate mousse on the other. The white chocolate tasted a lot like whipped cream with just a hint of white chocolate flavor. It was light and not overwhelming (for anyone that isn’t a white chocolate fan). The chocolate mousse was rich, fluffy, and had a whipped texture to it. The actual cookie was just like it’s miniature version, crunchy with a faint vanilla taste, a great contrast to the velvety mousse. Served with a side of fresh fruit, this dessert is an easy crowd pleaser. If you are a dessert lover, we definitely see this giant fortune cookie in your future!
