The Grub Street Food Festival: Bao Ping
It was an exciting day at the very first Grub Street Food Festival on Hester and Essex! My first stop was at Bao Bing Taiwanese Shaved Ice. I was instantly intrigued by the shaved ice machine and all of the flavors and toppings they offered. They had such unique toppings like red beans, mochi, Fruity Pebbles, and much more! After much deliberation, I decided on the shaved ice covered in condensed milk with green tea ice cream, tapioca, frosted flakes, and soft peanuts. I haven’t had anything this exotic in a while. Just look at that photo above! It was such a masterpiece, people were taking pictures of my ice! This place was definitely drawing attention for good reason. The flavors and textures were brilliant! There was crunchy, sweet, creamy, salty, chewy, and cool. This was so much fun to eat since there were so many components. I would recommend this cool treat anyday. They do events, catering, and inquiries at [email protected] Check them out on Facebook. I’ve never been a fan of shaved ice until I tried it Bao Ching’s way!
