The Grocery
After having a lovely dinner at The Grocery in Brooklyn, I wanted dessert from their menu so badly. I already planned to go to The Chocolate Room for dessert for National Chocolate Day, but their Warm Apple Cobbler looked SO good. I kept eyeing plates of desserts being brought out and I didn’t know what to do! Well, I decided to stick to my plan and come back. Before we got our check, I was surprised with complimentary homemade sorbets and biscotti! It’s one of their dessert choices, and lucky me, they don’t let you leave without a sweet finish! I LIKE THIS PLACE. I can see why they offer this specific dessert, since it was a delightful palate cleanser. Sour Cream Lemongrass, Hibiscus Citrus, and Passionfruit were the flavors. The sour cream really made it creamy and was a great combination with lemongrass. The hibiscus floral taste fit well with the tangy citrus and the passionfruit was tart and fruitful. The sprinkled pomegranates and sliced grapes were a stylish touch. The pistachio biscotti was so perfect with the sorbets. That salty and nutty flavor counter-acted the sweet and tart flavors gently. Not to mention, the crunchy texture, differing from the smooth and cool. Thank you, The Grocery, for the perfect little finish to a fantastic meal. I will be back for the cobbler!
