I saw my first runway show during Fashion Week (L.A.M.B.), and afterwards I went for dinner and dessert at Ed’s Chowder House right by the Empire Hotel and Lincoln Center.  The decor was hip and chic yet still had a beach feel to it.  When we (my husband and I) finished a delicious meal of clam chowder (it’s amazing here!), lobster rolls and grilled shrimp, we were definitely ready for something sweet.  I couldn’t decide between their Chocolate Pudding with Bourbon Pecans (our server said it was their most popular dessert) or their Vanilla Banana Cream Pie.  So we got both!  The chocolate pudding was cool and oh so thick and creamy.  It was topped with crumbled Bourbon pecans in cream with a wafer sticking on top.  This was a very rich dessert and satisfied my chocolate cravings for sure.  I would definitely share this delectable treat.  The Vanilla Banana Cream Pie was such a pleasant surprise!  It’s a standard dessert so I wasn’t expecting something outrageous, but it was incredible.  The cream and pudding was cool and light.  The crust was so fresh and thick and  just crumbled in my mouth.  The butterscotch addition on the plate really added to the flavor.  I thought it was such a good idea to add just a little to the pie.  The banana cream and butterscotch together complimented each other wonderfully.  The chocolate shavings on top were a nice finish as well.  I definitely could not stop eating the slice!  What a great end to a very “New York” evening!  Chic and fabulous:-).  xoxoBrownie
