Extraordinary Desserts…San Diego
Well, I have been waiting to write this review for a while, but I had to taste just the right desserts at Extraordinary Desserts. Of the many treats I tried, these two are my top picks. Located right by my apartment here in San Diego, this adorable dessert shop is definitely a must. They have a layout of stunning desserts unlike any I’ve seen! What I love about the restaurant is that it’s a sit-down place and has award worthy desserts you can accompany with a glass of vino, coffee, or tea. They are open late, which is key since most of us crave something sweet in the PM. The two lovelies pictured here are their Roasted Coconut Creme Torte and Dulce de Leche. The coconut cake is vanilla cake moistened with coconut milk and layered with coconut mousse and custard and whipped cream. Whaaaat??? You coconut fans would be in Heaven! Lots of coconut going on but not too much. It’s finished off with a beautiful flower decor. The Dulce de Leche was fantastic and layered with chocolate cake and chocolate mousse. Crunchy milk chocolate is mixed in the layers and on the outside. It’s finished with caramel covering the top. I just love chocolate shavings on the sides of cakes. Just plain fun to eat! WOW this was rich! I honestly don’t recommend trying to eat the whole thing. I have a great sweet tooth, but even I couldn’t eat the entire piece. Savor the richness for a few days! Their desserts get an A+ for beauty and elegance. If you’re looking for an indulgence like no other, stop by this sweet joint. xoxoBrownie
