Liddabit Sweets @ the Brooklyn Flee Market

securedownload-5securedownload-3Liddabit Sweets are handmade sweets made in NYC, using the finest ingredients!  It was started by two girls who met at the French Culinary Institute’s pastry program!  New Yorkers are lucky these two girls met and opened Liddabit because their homemade sweets are FANTASTIC!  I found them at the Brooklyn Flee Market on Sunday.  They have a stand there every weekend from 10am-5pm.
Among all the different kinds of unique candy bars they make they also have different kinds of gooey, soft caramels.  I had a very hard time deciding what to get.  But, after much debate, I chose the the most popular bar, “The King.”  The King is a soft peanut butter nougat sandwiched between a brown sugar-brown butter cookie and a layer of fresh banana ganache, and dipped in milk chocolate.  This candy bar was really unique and absolutely delicious.  The milk chocolate and peanut butter were really soft so the cookie part gave a nice crunchy texture with each bite.  The banana ganache added just enough sweetness.  ”The King” is very popular amongst the vendors at the Brooklyn Flea Market.  They sometimes buy in bulk to stock up for the week, I was told.  I don’t doubt it for one second after trying one.  The King is addictive!  As Liddabit Sweets says, “Long live the King!”  xoxo Blondie
