I have wanted to go to Baked NYC for a very long time and I finally made it! After seeing a picture of the famous “Brookie,” I knew I NEEDED to go! Located in Red Hook, Brooklyn, Baked NYC was started by two guys that consider themselves “dessert experts.” Anyone that combines a chocolate chip cookie inside a dark chocolate brownie, in my opinion, is an expert! The Brookie is rich and very chocolaty! I absolutely loved the crunchy edges of the brownie with the ooey, gooey inside. It doesn’t stop there though because your bite continues with a chocolate chip cookie blast! So, mixed into each brownie bite is a huge chocolate chunk! The Brookie topped with some vanilla ice cream would be the ULTIMATE Brownie sundae!
I couldn’t leave without trying one of their Whoopie Pies! With a variety of different flavors, the banana cake with chocolate buttercream caught my eye. My only hesitation was that it was cold, like having been refrigerated. So, I would suggest letting them get to room temperature before diving in. BUT, it was delicious and would pair wonderfully with a glass of milk! The banana cake tasted like banana bread, light and flavorful. The chocolate buttercream was almost like a mousse consistency, with a perfect amount of chocolate.
Baked NYC has a variety of cupcakes, cookies, and pies as well and they all look delicious! If you can’t make it out to Brooklyn, Royale Cafe and Pastry in Manhattan sells Baked sweets as well! xoxoBlondie
