Dean & Deluca in Washington, DC
I love Dean & Deluca! I know that it is a chain speciality grocery store, but it serves delicious baked goods! Walking in yesterday my eyes caught sight of a smores bar. It just looked so yummy from the case, calling my name saying, “EAT ME!” So, I did. I don’t need much persuasion. Anyone who knows me well might be calling my bluff right now because I don’t really like smores. But, there was something about the oozing marshmallow fluff busting out of two thick graham cracker cookies, that I knew this was going to be good. At first bite, I was dancing like the sugar plum fairy in the Nutcracker! The cookies were SUGAR graham cracker cookies and the bottom one was so buttery that it left a grease mark on the paper bag! I love that. I could actually see the butter on the bottom of the cookie. And they were thick! Thick and crunchy, but super soft on the inside. Sandwiched between was the marshmallow fluff that had chocolate chunks mixed in!!!! Each bite caused marshmallow to overflow on the sides, which only caused a lot of licking the sides of the bar! I really wanted to only eat half and save the rest for later, but I couldn’t stop myself! The sugar, butter, fluff, and chocolate were not a battle I was prepared to fight. I don’t know if every Dean & Deluca serves these Smores Bars, but if you see one…have SMORE! xoxoBlondie
