On a pleasant, cool evening here in NYC, I had dinner at the beautiful outdoor cafe at St. Bart’s.  Located in the restored Hall of St. Bartholomews Church’s Community House, the dinging of the church bells every quarter hour was lovely.  The cafe is far enough away from the street that you don’t feel bombarded by cars and passersby.  There is a flower garden between you and the sidewalk.  Their inside cafe is unique and pretty as well.  After a fantastic dinner, I asked about their Raspberry and Peach Cobbler.  My friendly waiter said it was the best dessert on the menu, therefore, of course, I ordered it.  It was absolutely delicious!  The top layer was a light and crisp mixture of streusel and cookies, made the night before.  In the core was a fresh mixture of raspberries and peaches that had just enough tang and sweetness to coincide with the topping.  It wasn’t sticky and gooey like most cobblers which was nice.  A dollop of vanilla ice cream was the perfect finish and compliment.  Their desserts are all seasonal and created by their Executive Chef Matt Weingarten.  I highly recommend you have a relaxing dinner at the outdoor cafe while the summer weather is still here, but you can always check out their indoor restaurant which is open year round.  xoxoBrownie
