I “SCREME” you “SCREME” we all “SCREME” for GELATO!?!?
Ok, I know that’s not how the saying goes, but these days ice cream is being replaced by it’s creamier counterpart…gelato! While on 42nd Street, I passed Screme, a new gelato bar that has opened several locations in NYC. I was overwhelmed by the variety of flavors and the generous samples the employees give away. Since I had to get back to rehearsal, I only had time to sample a few flavors: Twix, Butter Cookie, and Pineapple. Spectacular!!! Later that evening I ventured to the Upper West Side location to fulfill my craving! This location is a bit smaller and didn’t have as many choices, but I still had a hard time deciding. Again, the kind employees encouraged everyone to taste as many flavors they wanted! How fantastic! (Unlike Tasti-D that has a sign saying one sample per person!) I ordered Cinnamon Pecan Cookie Dough and Panna Cotta in a cup. I cannot even describe how delicious this gelato was. I loved the huge sugar cookie dough pieces mixed with the crunch from pecans and then cinnamon dusted on top! The panna cotta was creamy, smooth, and almost had a vanilla taste to it. It was simple, yet scrumptious! Screme uses all natural fresh ingredients and with no artificial flavorings. It is always made fresh daily. I love Screme for their creative flavors. It’s exciting that every time I walk by, there might be something new I HAVE to try. With all the free samples, how could you not?!?!? xoxo Blondie
