Located in adorable Greenwich Village, there is a quaint tea place where I frequently fulfill my teatime cravings. It is purely British in every way, from its staff to the cockney rhyming slang on the wall. Tea and Sympathy is really small and cozy, which gives it a homey atmosphere. Now let’s talk about the dessert! After my waitress recommended the Sticky Toffee Pudding, I had to get it! It is a British dessert; a moist sponge cake with finely chopped dates. You can get it with or without the custard sauce. YOU MUST GET IT WITH THE CUSTARD SAUCE. The cake is covered in warm vanilla custard and sticky toffee sauce. It is to die for! It’s just a good hunk of home and comfort. Just to mention, they also have the best broccoli and cheese quiche I’ve ever had! I say come for the desserts, come for the food, come for the tea, come for everything! They also have a shop next-door that sells everything British. I recommend the ketchup crisps (chips). So hop on the red or blue line to 14th Street and sink those Hampsteads (cockney for teeth) into some delicious eats from across the pond!
