With two locations in NYC, this diner has got it going on!  You’ll enjoy their amazing comfort food classics and then indulge in their all-American desserts.  The sweets here are out of control concotions such as:  Cookie Dough Pancakes, Cookies and Cream three layer cake, chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches, a “Candy Man” sundae, and the roasted marshmallow cupcake (pictured above)!  Baked everyday next door at City Crab (only because they have more oven space), these cupcakes are “Big” in size, creativity, and taste!  They also have a red velvet cupcake topped with rainbow sprinkles, and an Oreo cupcake topped with crushed oreos, but the roasted mallow is my favorite.  Today was the second time I have enjoyed this s’more treat.  Interestingly, they differed a bit.   The first time the cupcake was filled with icing, this time it was not.  The cake portion this time was a bit dry, last time very moist.  Despite these differences, the top part was the same, and boy was it YUMMY!  Under the layer of roasted mallows is a layer of good ol’, grocery store sugary icing.  In true diner style this frosting is NOT the buttercream kind you find at all the bakeries in NYC.  This frosting brings you back to the cakes you grew up with from the local Kroger supermarket.  Covering the icing is a thick layer of roasted mallows that remains completely gooey, sweet, and sticky!!  Just like eating a s’more at a bonfire.
