One of my favorite things to do is find the most adorable and delicious places in areas you wouldn’t expect for them to be. Well, on the recommendation of a Chef friend of mine, I went to Ruby et Violette on 50th between 9th and 10th. Sooooo cute! It’s like stepping inside a couture 1900′s soda shop with a modern feel! Boy was I in for a trip as I stepped up to the counter and saw the scrumptious kinds of cookies to pick from. What I decided on you must prepare yourself to hear. The first one I chose a “cookie jar” cookie which has a combination of Reeses Pieces, Butterfinger, and Snickers with chocolate chips. My second was their “Friday Night Football” cookie with chocolate chips, peanuts and Chex cereal. Fir the third I enjoyed their “PB and J” cookie with white chocolate, peanut butter chips, and a special preserve. Let me tell you, there were all fantastic! This place definitely gets the “Most Unique” award from creativity in the kitchen. For one cookie it’s $2.50, which is a good penny, but it’s for the overall experience. You can order a glass of milk along with your cookies, so you can feel like a kid again for short while. They also serve brownies and blondies and an extensive list of coffees! So if you’re in midtown and want a sweet escape, pop in Ruby et Violette for a lovely break.
