How sweet it is to be in this bakery!!  Located on Allen Street in the lower east side is this tiny bake shop serving big time sweets.  Everything here looked delicious, but I tried their cupcakes because the flavors where unique and the cupcakes were filled!  Since Red Velvet Cake is my favorite, I tried the red velvet cupcake first. It was filled with cream cheese buttercream icing and topped with the same.  The cream cheese frosting was perhaps the best I have ever had!  The buttercream tasted more of cream cheese than sugar which was delightful surprise!  It was immensely creamy and thick and also served a little chilled.   Normally I hate chilled cupcakes, but I didn’t mind here because the chilling helped to pronounce the cream cheese flavor.  The cake was light, moist and well balanced against the buttercream.  It also was topped with adorable candy hearts!  The next cupcake I tried was the PB&J.  It was filled with jam and topped with a very
rich, very peanut buttery buttercream frosting.  This buttercream had ample amounts of PB in it and against the jam filling was salty/sweet explosion in my mouth.  This cupcake tasted like a PB&J sandwhich rolled up, baked, and put into cupcake form.  Absolutely delicious!  A glass of cold milk would accompany this well.  I need to go back to How Sweet It Is because they also serve ice cream cookie sandwiches and a dense flourless chocolate cake that would cure any PMS day!!
